The gun shows 85 - 90% original blue to its barrel, 80% blue to the rebate portion of its cylinder and perhaps 70% thin blue over the top of its cylinder scene. For its type, this is a sound, solid condition Confederate Sharps Carbine. The barrel marking of "RICHMOND, VA," and serial range of this Confederate Carbine identifies this as one of the Sharp's carbines made by the Confederate government after it took over the Richmond factory of Samuel Robinson, who made the first 1900 of them. The silver tips to the eagle feathers in the photo are just reflections from the light source and do not reflect the deep golden color that is retained by the wire and trim work.
