This is a good condition Horstmann Foot Officers sword inside of an Ames Scabbard and it has been that way since it's period of use. The sword was purchased by me a few years ago from a family that picked it up from a neighbor and didn't feel they needed any documentation on the sword as it was identified with inscription.
