This fine condition Kentucky Rifle is boldly signed "A. Schweitzer" in script on the top flat of its barrel. It's a fine full-length rifle of 57 & 1/2" with medium curl to the stock and of 40 caliber. It shows nicely detail carving to the back of the cheekpiece area, to the rear of the wrist on each side of the stock, some nice c-scroll work behind the barrel tang and fine molding the length of the fore-end on both sides. The toe and side plates show tasteful engraving as does the patchbox. The gun is thin and of light weight. The lock has been reconverted to flint. This is a very nice gun that would be a good addition to a Kentucky Collection or for hanging over a fireplace.
