This is a fine condition rifle by Western Pennsylvania maker Samuel McCosh. McCosh was a noted maker of some very fine embellished rifles. This one is relatively plain but all original, with no repairs or work done to it. S. McCosh boldly stamped on top of the barrel and a beautiful "National Road" style patch-box adorns the left butt. McCosh's work is sometimes associated with other masters of Western Pennsylvania such as Fleeger, Allison and others. Right out-of-the-woods and in very fine condition. Guns like this are difficult to find today. If you own such a gun, we buy and sell Kentucky Rifles. Keep us in mind when you are ready to divest of any good guns or accessories.
