IDENTIFIED PAIR OF CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK PISTOLS - Lot #4549

I found these pistols a couple of years ago stuck in this belly-box double-holster along with a few other American Artifacts that date from the 1760 - 1820 period. Each gun (as pictured) is engraved on the top of the barrel, "Lieut. Col. Waller Phillips". During this period, it is not unusual for the name "Waller" to be interchanged on birth, death, marriage and tax records as "Walter". This Colonel Phillips is most likely a British subject. If anyone has in their records any mention of a Lieutenant Colonel Waller or Walter Philips, please let me know via email and I'll promptly contact you. The guns are in sharp condition to include their actions and the holster is very sound with its original embroidery. Ketland marked locks with roller frizzers. I believe they date 1800 - 1820. A really nice set of flints that could dramatically increase in value if researched and identified properly.
