COLT REVOLVING RIFLE, This is a very fine condition gun in the 2,XXX range, of 56 caliber 5-shot cylinder. Many of these rifles in this range were issued to the 4th Michigan and 4th Missouri Cavalry units during the Civil War. It retains 90% blue on the barrel with traces on the frame and a crispy cylinder turned to a plumb-brown. The entire balance of the gun is in medium brown patina. The wood is excellent save for a missing sliver along the right front edge at the cleaning rod channel. The cleaning rod extension rarely found in the butt is absent. A really nice gun that is getting extremely difficult to find.
