ROGERS AND SPENCER REVOLVER, ANTIQUE GUN - Lot #3422

Rogers & Spencer Revolvers were ordered by the U. S. Government in 1864 and delivered from April through September of 1865. Due to the late deliveries, many of these fine guns were probably never issued and eventually sold off to arms dealers, resulting in a very rare treat for collectors today in that these can sometimes be found in excellent condition. This is one of the best I have ever come across retaining 99% blue on the barrel and frame and just a hint of dark plumbing on the cylinder which is 90+% blue. This mix of blue and plumb actually make the cylinder appear to also have 99% blue at arms length. The grips are also near mint and the gun shows just the slightest handling marks. As you can see in the photos, this gun is an absolute "screamer" and is worthy of a top-notch collection. It would not suprise me to see such a gun priced a thousand dollars higher on another website or at auction.
